I thought I'd make a list of some particularly wonderful little things I experienced today.
- The leaves turning yellow (or gold, if you'd prefer the more romantic approach) on my drive to and from work.
- Apple slices with peanut butter as an addition to the daily sandwich.
- The fact that it was decently warm and VERY sunny today, but a strong playful breeze kept everything mellow and blustery in a friendly way.
- The fact that I didn't need my GPS to get to or from work today!!
- A wonderful conversation with a random lady in an elevator; we both agreed we'd had long days, but hey, the lovely breezy weather made up for it. Happy interactions with other members of the human race = simply joy.
- When my stories are complimented :)
- The hot dog cart on the sidewalk corner outside my office: I have never purchased anything from it, but it's always a fun welcome smell to catch at the end of the day. It has basically come to signify, "work is done for the day!"
- A short nap after arriving home, before making dinner. Because I can.
- When the dryer actually dries your whole load of laundry and you don't have to hang stuff up around your apartment to air dry.
- Catching up with an old friend over the phone and laughing about the ridiculousness that is arguing theology with kids, disciplining misbehaving dogs, and life in general.
What were you thankful for today?
