Those people who restore my hope in humanity

Covering community/religion-related news, I've come across a lot of fundraisers, "movements" and well-meaning people doing stuff to help the common good.

All of these stories are fairly different, but over the past few weeks I noticed a common theme: all of these people are working in their respective little niches to make their small corners of the earth a better place.

You've got the parish that ran a huge fundraiser to help their parishioners' child with a rare medical condition.
"To love another person is to see the face of God."

You've got the local guy who started writing about a certain Bible story while going through several life difficulties, and unexpectedly wrote an entire book that has now taken off in his area of the community.

You've got the people who run crisis pregnancy shelters for women in need.

You've got the men who choose to serve God through becoming deacons (or priests, for that matter).

You've got the young adults who stand on street corners to hand out faith-based literature or pray with passersby, not caring if they look kind of silly and randomly-placed.

You've got the people working to build up ecumenical dialogue between communities, and maybe somehow bridge the gap of years gone by.

This is not an exhaustive list: there are many more people who have helped restore my faith in humanity.

They're all covering quite different categories of life, but regardless, they're tuned into the call to do something with what they've been given. This isn't about how I wrote some sort of inspirational story on these people, because the story's like that due to them.

These people inspire me as a journalist. And I thank them for that.
