(On that note, if anyone has any comments/criticisms/suggestions about the new appearance, let me know.)
Some basic thoughts on the relevant topic of new year's things:
I'd already entered the new year before I remembered that tradition of making resolutions to live this year differently. I mean, I'm sure I heard people discuss it, but it all rather passed by in a vague mist and I didn't really register that it was that time of year again.
All right, so if you made that resolution to be a better person this year, you have my wholehearted moral support.
But the whole thing with "new year, new you," has already been debunked by all sorts of statistics I won't bother to look up for you. You know, all of those "90 percent of New Year's resolutions are broken by the first two weeks, etc.," (a statistic I made up, but you probably know what I'm talking about).
If you want to become a better person, just start on the day that you realize what is preventing you from being a better person in the first place. You really don't need a new calendar to get you to do that.

This weather really needs to warm up soon...
